Symbolic Interactionism
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 4 page paper discussing symbolic interactionism as a theory of social life and change. Symbolic interactionist theory is based on the subjective awareness that individuals perceptions of self and society is constructed through interaction between humans and the meanings assigned to symbols within society. Communication is based on the assigned meaning of these symbols and the definition of self is based on communication within society. The constant symbolic interaction between individuals not only defines individuals’ concept of self but also how others are viewed in society and how individuals perceive they must act in society. Philosopher George Mead and sociologist Erving Goffman are just two of the many social scientists who have adopted this subjective approach to social interaction and change. The interactionist approach is considered to be subjective as individual action within society is considered flexible, shifting and ever changing in that individuals and society interpret each other’s actions rather than merely react to each other and their actions are directly based on the meanings assigned to such actions.

Systems Thinking And Systems Dynamics
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Modifying a process that has been the mainstay of a particular application is not only a complex and enormous undertaking, but it is often a necessary evil to correct issues within that system that no longer function for the benefit of a positive outcome. Processes that are splintered in their assembly cannot produce anything else but fractured output, which reflects a common problem when systems utilized a piecemeal approach that serves only to tether together each section rather than contain it as a whole unit. Tadeusz Borowski & Moral Complacency
[ send me this paper ]
One of the saddest attributes of the human race is the ability to get used to anything. When something becomes commonplace, no matter the horror involved, humans will switch to automatic and assume that all is right
with the world. Add to this an acceptance of circumstance as a matter of fate and the result is likely to be moral complacency. Tadeusz Borowski has compiled a series of
short stories that have at the heart of each just that: moral complacency. This is a 5 page paper that examines the issue of morality in the face of death as seen through the eyes of Tadeusz Borowski's work, “This Way For The Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen.” Bibliography lists 2 sources.
