Leadership and Succession at Johnson & Johnson
[ send me this paper ]
A 14 page paper discussing the qualities of successful "changing of the guard" at leading companies. Leadership As Metaphors
[ send me this paper ]
A 7 page paper that discusses why metaphors are used so often to describe leadership. Scholars have failed in their attempts to agree on the definition of leadership. Some have offered definitions but most describe traits, behaviors, characteristics and skills. This is one of the reasons metaphors have been used so often to describe leaders and leaderships. The writer reports the many contexts from which metaphors are drawn. The essay then offers an example of a historical figure and comments on the metaphors the writer would use to describe their own leadership style. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Leadership Characteristics of Residential Property Managers
[ send me this paper ]
A 10 page paper discussing the traits and skills that a property manager must have. The effective property manager must have the ability to be all things to all people at one time or another, while simultaneously having a knack for getting things done. The property manager cannot be one to "sit" on situations to see how they will develop, because any time a situation arises it typically has the potential of growing into something much larger than when it is discovered. Property management is not a career choice for the procrastinator or for one who cannot communicate effectively with any individual of any background or social standing. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

Leadership Characteristics: Learned, Innate or Both?
[ send me this paper ]
This is an 8 page paper discussing leadership traits and whether or not the traits can be learned, are innate or both. Tutorial suggestions are inserted throughout the paper in square brackets. Theories of leadership whether historical or modern day all seem to include certain elements some of which appear to be learned and can be taught and others which can only be described as innate traits. Characteristics needed for good leadership include the ability to motivate people within an organization, the ability to communicate the mission of the organization and the ability to promote positive team work in order to increase production among other elements. Regardless of the fact that these elements can be taught within programs and are sought in individuals within organization, traditionally exceptional leaders also possess a vision for the future and ways in which to apply that vision successfully and a great deal of charisma. The elements of vision and charisma may be more difficult to learn and may be described as innate. Leadership courses will continue to be taught and guidelines for successful leadership will continue to be published which will contain essentially elements necessary in today’s leaders and leaders who have learned and apply these guidelines will no doubt be successful. However, based on historical leadership studies, those leaders who excel beyond the others will not doubt possess learned skills but also have the advantage of the innate elements of charisma and vision as well. Bibliography lists 7 sources.

Leadership In Organizations
[ send me this paper ]
9 pages in length. The notion of leadership is such an integral component of successful organizations that the term is all too often bandied about without a genuine understanding of just what it means on both a personal and broad spectrum level. Leadership requires much more than merely holding a title; rather, it incorporates vast amounts of personal traits, industry savvy, professional ethics, open-mindedness and strong communication skills for anyone to be considered a true leader. The extent to which leadership is responsible for making or breaking a given organization is both grand and far-reaching; that the ability to challenge, inspire, enable, encourage and become a role model for the entire organization speaks to the notion of leadership as the tipping point between success and failure. Bibliography lists 12 sources.
